About Lyndsay the Doula
Hello There!
I’m Lyndsay, a Certified Birth Doula and the founder of Sublime Motherhood. For more than 10 years, I’ve served families across the U.S. with skilled, compassionate support in birth and postpartum care. As a proud Air Force spouse, I am thrilled to be working closely with military families and serving the local community here on Guam!
I have always had a strong connection to working with children. Growing up I gained early exposure to childcare through my mother's home daycare, and by the age of 12 I was babysitting regularly. As I progressed in my child care career, I built on this foundation through hands on experience in various settings including a daycare center, Montessori school, respite care center, and a safe home for young single mothers. Each role deepened my passion for supporting children and families in meaningful ways.
However, my own journey into motherhood began with incredible stress and a deep search for support. My first pregnancy was very challenging as I dealt with extreme morning sickness, labored through a difficult induction, and then experienced painful breastfeeding difficulties and severe postpartum depression and anxiety, all while adjusting to my new life as a mother.
Out of fear during my second pregnancy, I started learning about the role of doulas and the possibility of having expert birth support. In 2014, I took my first training with DONA International seeking to better understand childbirth. From there, I completely fell in love with supporting new families. Experiencing firsthand how empowering birth and motherhood can be with the right support was life changing.
As a birth doula, I’ve been described as intuitively soothing, comforting, and a strong advocate when needed. My goals are to reduce fear and anxiety, minimize pain, and offer physical and emotional comfort measures, ensuring you feel confident and supported whatever your birth plans may be.
My birth philosophy is simple, it's your birth philosophy. I am committed to respecting your family's experience and focusing on what matters most to you. I approach birth with deep respect for both the physiological process and the individual circumstances of each family.
When I’m not talking about birth or babies, you can usually find me reading, cooking something new, or spending time with my family.
I can’t wait to meet you and hear about your birth plans! Let’s get together and chat soon.
