Childbirth Education & Classes

Childbirth Education Birth Class Delaware
My husband and I had an excellent experience with Lyndsay. Through pregnancy she taught my husband and I so many techniques to achieve the natural labor we desired. Those techniques were priceless as I went into labor.

Childbirth Education

$175 - Pregnancy and birth are physically demanding! Mental preparation and emotional support can go a long way towards helping you manage the intensity of your upcoming labor and birth. Ideally, you should take a childbirth class between weeks 20 and 36 of your pregnancy.

This class can be split into two separate 1.5 hour classes, or a comprehensive 3 hour class for your convenience.

Topics Covered:

  • Emotional, mental, and physical stages of early and active labor, pushing, and birth

  • Creating comfort with the five senses during labor

  • How to manage pain & what contractions feel like

  • Options for interventions, pain medication, etc as desired

  • The importance of the labor environment & how to use it to your advantage

  • Positioning for early and active labor, pushing, and birth

  • Postpartum sensations and recovery

  • Newborn care and feeding information as desired

I attended one of the childbirth classes provided by my hospital, and had to leave the class early because the teaching style was only heightening my fear. Lyndsay was referred to me by my OBGYN, who told me she would be able to help prepare me for childbirth in a way that best fit my needs. And she was right!

I was able to have her come and do classes in the comfort of my home, at a time when my mom could be there with me (as she would be in the delivery room with me), and in a style where I felt comfortable asking questions in a conversational way. Not only did she relieve my anxieties about childbirth, but she got me excited for it. Each visit she brought reading materials for me to go through on my own time, and tools we could practice with that would eventually help me with pain management.
